Publishing Policies

Appeals and Complaints Policy

The fair, transparent, and impartial handling of appeals and complaints is essential to maintaining confidence in scholarly publishing. The Emergency Medicine Physicians Association of Türkiye is committed to ensuring that all editorial processes across the journals published under its auspices are conducted in accordance with these principles.
All appeals and complaints are managed confidentially by the editorial office of the relevant journal in accordance with the recommendations of COPE.
01

Scope

Appeals

Authors may submit an appeal if they believe that an editorial decision involved a significant procedural error, an inadequate scientific evaluation, or another substantive issue affecting the editorial process. Appeals should be based on objective and clearly justified grounds rather than simple disagreement with the editorial decision.

Complaints

Complaints may relate to editorial procedures, publication ethics, peer-review practices, communication processes, or any matter that is believed to be inconsistent with the principles of fairness and good editorial practice.

02

Submission Process

Appeals and complaints must be submitted in writing to the editorial office of the relevant journal using the journal's official communication channels.

  • The manuscript title and manuscript reference number,
  • A detailed explanation of the appeal or complaint,
  • Any relevant correspondence or supporting documentation.
03

Evaluation Process

  • The editorial office acknowledges receipt of the submission in writing.
  • The matter is reviewed impartially by the relevant editorial board.
  • Independent expert advice may be sought where appropriate.
  • COPE guidance is followed throughout the evaluation process.
  • The final decision is communicated to the submitter in writing.
  • If unforeseen circumstances delay the process, the submitter is informed accordingly.
04

All appeals and complaints are handled confidentially. Information and documentation obtained during the process are shared only with individuals directly responsible for the evaluation and resolution of the matter.
