Publishing Policies

Digital Preservation and Archiving Policy

One of the fundamental responsibilities of scholarly publishing is to ensure the long-term accessibility, integrity, and preservation of published scientific content. The Emergency Medicine Physicians Association of Türkiye is committed to supporting practices consistent with international publishing standards to preserve and ensure sustainable access to the digital content published in the journals under its auspices.
01

Digital Preservation Approach

Digital preservation encompasses the technical and organizational measures required to prevent published content from being lost, corrupted, or becoming inaccessible over time. This approach aims to:

  • Preserve data integrity,
  • Provide alternative means of access,
  • Maintain the infrastructure necessary to restore access in the event of system failure or data loss.
02

Website and Content Archiving

Online journal content, including articles, supplementary files, images, metadata, and web pages, is protected through secure backup systems.

  • The primary version of published content is continuously available on the official journal website.
  • Data are backed up on secure servers located in separate physical locations.
  • Appropriate recovery procedures are maintained to restore access as quickly as possible in the event of data loss or system failure.
03

Indexing and External Archiving

The Association supports the inclusion of its journals in national and international abstracting and indexing services. These platforms:

  • Increase the visibility of published articles.
  • Contribute to the long-term preservation of scholarly content through metadata or full-text records.

Accordingly, published content remains accessible through multiple trusted platforms.

04

Authors' Archiving Rights

In line with the principles of open science, the Association supports authors' rights to archive their published work. Subject to the licensing and copyright policies of the relevant journal, authors may deposit the Version of Record in:

  • Personal academic websites,
  • Institutional repositories,
  • Appropriate subject-specific repositories.

Such deposits should include the complete bibliographic citation together with a link to the official version available on the journal website.

05

Institutional Commitment

The Emergency Medicine Physicians Association of Türkiye is committed to supporting the secure, permanent, and long-term preservation of the scholarly content published in its journals. This policy aims to contribute to the preservation of the scholarly record, the continuity of scientific knowledge, and the promotion of open access principles.
