Post-Publication Policies

Letters to the Editor and Scholarly Discussion

In accordance with the policy of the relevant journal, readers, authors, and researchers may submit letters to the editor, comments, or scholarly discussions concerning published articles.
Such submissions are expected to:

• Clearly identify the article being discussed,
• Be supported by scientific evidence,
• Be constructive and respectful,
• Avoid personal attacks, defamatory statements, or unsupported allegations.

Where appropriate, the corresponding author may be invited to respond. Following editorial evaluation, the letter and any response may be published and, where possible, linked to the original article.

Corrections and Editorial Notices

Where errors or omissions are identified in published articles, the journal may issue a correction, clarification, or other appropriate editorial notice depending on the nature and significance of the issue.
Such notices are clearly linked to the original publication to preserve the accuracy of the scholarly record.

Expressions of Concern

Where serious concerns arise regarding the reliability of the research, ethical compliance, or research integrity, the journal may initiate an investigation in accordance with COPE guidance.
Where appropriate, an Expression of Concern may be published while the investigation is ongoing to inform readers of unresolved issues.
Authors may be invited to provide an explanation, and relevant institutions may be contacted where necessary.

Retractions

Retraction procedures may be initiated in cases of research misconduct, major scientific error, or other circumstances that substantially compromise the reliability of the published work.
During this process:

• An appropriate editorial assessment is conducted.
• Authors are given an opportunity to respond.
• The final decision is made through the journal's established editorial decision-making process.
• A retraction notice stating the reasons for the retraction is published.

Retracted articles remain accessible as part of the permanent scholarly record and are clearly identified as retracted.

Editorial Transparency

RAll post-publication processes are conducted in accordance with the principles of fairness, confidentiality, editorial independence, and publication ethics. The Association supports transparent documentation of editorial decisions and, where appropriate, their communication to the scholarly community.

Institutional Commitment

The Emergency Medicine Physicians Association of Türkiye is committed to maintaining effective post-publication mechanisms that preserve the integrity and reliability of the scholarly record. The Association will continue to manage post-publication issues in accordance with internationally recognized publication ethics standards.
