Publication Ethics Violations Policy

Major Types of Ethical Violations

The following practices are regarded as serious publication ethics violations:

• Plagiarism: The use of another person's text, data, images, or ideas without appropriate acknowledgment.
• Fabrication: The creation or reporting of data, observations, or results that were never obtained.
• Falsification: The intentional manipulation, alteration, omission, or misrepresentation of research data.
• Redundant or Duplicate Publication: Republishing all or a substantial part of previously published work as a new publication.
• Salami Slicing: Artificially dividing the findings of a single study into multiple publications without scientific justification.
• Inappropriate Citation and Authorship Practices: Manipulative citation practices, honorary or gift authorship, ghost authorship, or other inappropriate attribution of authorship.

Measures to Prevent Ethical Violations

To promote responsible scholarly publishing, the journals implement the following measures:

• All submitted manuscripts are evaluated using iThenticate or equivalent similarity detection software.
• Authors are expected to disclose any previously published material, datasets, preprints, or related scholarly works associated with the submission.
• Authors are required to confirm that the submitted manuscript is original, has not been published previously, and has been prepared in accordance with accepted ethical standards.

Editorial Responsibilities and Actions

Editors manage suspected publication ethics violations in accordance with the recommendations of COPE. Where appropriate, editors may:

• Suspend or halt the editorial process.
• Request formal explanations or additional documentation from the authors.
• Apply editorial actions including rejection, correction, retraction, or other appropriate measures.
• Notify relevant institutions or competent authorities in cases of serious misconduct.

Sanctions

Appropriate editorial actions are determined according to the nature and severity of the ethical violation.
Where misconduct is identified before publication:

• The manuscript may be rejected.
• The relevant institution may be informed where appropriate.

Where misconduct is identified after publication:

• A correction, retraction, or editorial notice may be published.
• Relevant institutions or authorities may be formally notified when necessary.

Principles Governing the Process

The reporting and evaluation of publication ethics violations are conducted in accordance with COPE guidance and are based on the principles of:

• Impartiality
• Confidentiality
• Transparency
• Proper documentation

Communication with all parties is conducted respectfully, fairly, and with appropriate justification throughout the process.
