We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Prof. Dr. Gazi Yaşargil, one of the most distinguished figures in Turkish medicine and a pioneer honored as the "Surgeon of the Century."
Prof. Yaşargil graciously participated in our 11th National Emergency Medicine Congress, held in Antalya from April 16–19, 2015, which was jointly organized with the 2nd Intercontinental Emergency Medicine Congress and the 2nd International Critical Care and Emergency Medicine Congress. During this event, he was presented with the 2015 International Emergency Medicine Gold Award in recognition of his exceptional contributions to medical science.
On behalf of the Emergency Medicine Association of Turkey (ATUDER), we extend our deepest condolences to his family, loved ones, and colleagues around the world.
